History of Thor Motor Coach®

Thor Motor Coach® began as an acquisition. The parent company, Thor Industries®, first launched in 1980, when Wade F. B. Thompson and Peter B. Orthwein acquired Airstream. They then purchased General Coach™ and ElDorado Bus, along with the acquisition of Heartland RV Company. 

Thor Industries® eventually created Thor Motor Coach® by merging two companies: Damon Motor Coach and Four Winds International. And while Thor Motor Coach® is a relatively new company, only making Class A and Class C motorhomes, it now makes almost 25% of the motorhomes sold each year!
